4 Stars Great PSP version
Referring to TOCA. This game plays well and looks very good on the PSP. I like the different modes of play and the many cars and tracks you unlock as you win races and overtakes. A note on price: I picked this game up last week at gamestop new for $19.95.

4 Stars All around driver
A great game if you are looking for a all-around driving game. Tons of different cars with different handling characteristics that can be tweaked. If you want NASCAR racing, you got it. Rally racing? Got that too. Lots of different tracks. The campaign game is challedging, but not overly frustrating. This game challedges you on having a variety of racing skills that you need to have. If you want just one racing game to cover a variety of different racing genres, this is it.

4 Stars direct port
most racing simulator reviews sound eerily similar; “supercharged gameplay” or “feel the crunching of metal!” and before I purchased this, thats exactly what I read as well. Race Driver 2006 for the PSP is, hands down, the BEST racing sim on the handheld today. That may be due to the fact its the ONLY sim racer on the system. Ridge Racer and Burnout give you plenty of arcade fun drifting, but RD06 goes that step further. The only problem though, is the fact that I’ve already played this game…on XBox. It is a direct, scene for scene and race for race port of ToCa Race Driver 2. Which is on one hand, great because that is such an overlooked racing sim in the shadow of Gran Turismo. On the other hand, I wanted something a little newer. New Tracks etc and a new playing mode fill in that gap. This game looks stunning, as all the ToCa series have.

My only real complaint is the controls. super simplified though they are, all the cars tend to glide a lot more than on the XBox version. which can get very frustrating on laguna seca. precision controls on a handheld gaming system are by default nearly impossible, but this game is really worth the effort. I gave it a 4 for fun, not because it didnt earn a 5, but because i get frustrated by controls very easily. and overall 4 because, as i said, we’ve seen it all before.

5 Stars good game for the price
i got this game for my son he likes it and it was cheap so all around good buy

4 Stars Bomberman
This game is really cute and fun to play. There are many mini games within, and it’s interesting to challenge yourself to beat your own score over and over.

5 Stars One of the best Bomberman titles in years
Bomberman Land is an RPG/minigame collection. There are over 50 minigames, and most of them are actually fun. I like this better than Bomberman Land Touch on DS because there’s less aimless wandering and the minigames are easier. The story is funny at times. You can also customize your single-player character with lots of different outfits. The 3D graphics vary from good-very good. Load times are amazingly short for a PSP game – virtually nonexistent.

It still get has classic 4-player Bomberman battle mode, and unlike the first PSP game, the battle mode is rendered in 2D graphics (but the main game and minigames are 3D). The Battle mode has 4 different play styles (Normal, Star, Point, and Crown Battle) and a whopping 46 stages (+ Random) to choose from. My criticisms of Battle Mode: it’s only four players, and there aren’t enough items. But it plays well – in fact, better than the previous Bomberman PSP game.

I recommend all Bomberman fans snap this game up – it’s excellent.

3 Stars Good Portable Basketball Game
I was looking for a basketball game with decent graphics and great gameplay. After reviewing this product online I realized that this was by far the most recommended selection for portable basketball games. Add to this fact that it’s an EA Sports game I purchased it. Gameplay is fairly straightforward and the graphics are decent, but it really could use more of the Madden NFL engine to drive this game. Something is missing from the gameplahy that would make this game better. Overall, for the price and based on the few titles available, this game is “Good” not great.

2 Stars Game is Gay
Honestly, I am huge support of NBA2K8, however I am in Iraq right now so I have to subject myself to NBA live 08 on PSP. The mini games are fun, and I like the added 3 point contest and slam dunk, but the actual gameplay of the game is horrid. Anyone can take it all the way to the hole and lay it up and it’s hard to stop. It’s just not worth the money.

5 Stars NBA Live 07
I bought this game for my son. He loves it.

5 Stars great game
This is the first NBA game that I played and I love it. Here is what I have to say about the game.

Great things

The best thing is all star weekend where you have all the events of real life all star weekend. You could play the all star game, 3 point shootout, slam dunk contest, and the rookie vs sophmore game.

season mode is fun to

You should buy this game

3 Stars buying this game to play online? save your money
bottem line. everyone who plays onine cheats. youll find your self winning in a game then in between quarters suddenly you will see a message like” other player have terminated connection” then you will get the loss and they will win. ive had games when ive been 20 points ahead and they pull there little cheat and I loss. my record now is 45 and 35. About 30 of those losses are from these nba live cheaters. E.a does nothing about it either. do your self a favor and pick another game.

5 Stars Game, set, match
One of my favorie games on the PSP. The price on Amazon was good. This game is perhaps one of the best sports games out for the PSP. I don’t even play tennis in real life, but this game is both fun and addicting.

4 Stars A litle bit of enterteinment…
Good graphics, some “extra” option games, a good option for this kind of games

5 Stars Great game
This game is more than mere button pressing, but it takes strategy (much like real tennis). I love this game.

3 Stars Steep Learning Curve
The learning curve for this game is rather steep. Learning how to serve the ball and get it in play is a challenge in itself. This is a game that’s probably best experienced on a home console. It’s not ideal for those random moments that you sometimes have to play a game. You wouldn’t want to take this game along on your briefcase so that you can play during your lunch break. It demands more concentration and dedication than that.

As always, I try to keep my focus and my perspective in their proper places whenever I’m evaluating a video game. Is the game of good quality, meaning the graphics, controls, mechanics, and game engine? I would have to say yes and give this game 3 stars. On the more subjective question of fun, I give this game a 2. Again, this latter being more subjective than the former. In my humble opinion, this game is not much fun on a portable console.

From my perspective, a portable game should be designed for a different use than a home console game. A PSP game should lean more towards casual gaming, with a not-too-steep learning curve. This is one of those games that would be more enjoyable on the PS2.

5 Stars NEVER give five stars but Best handheld tennis game
I played tennis in high school and college. I own every handheld system tennis game there is. This is the best. Here’s why.

Incredible ball control. For me, it’s about making the shots. A drop when your opponent is on the baseline. hammering it deep to the right corner over and over and then whipping it to the far left. serve and volley. amazing angles. I can do it all on this psp game.

Graphics, graphics, graphics. Must be seen. BY FAR the best on a handheld system. Plus 2 player views. Overhead and on-court.

opponent skill and AI. level your player to the max, set the computer opponent to very hard and have a ball. In all the months of play, I have only served 2 aces!

Easy to save at any point. If I have to turn off in the middle of a point, the system usually comes on to that point. Great on the plane.

Strong minigames.

If you are a big fan of tennis and especially if you are a former competitive player – Buy this game.
