Open Question: Got a used PSP. Need to understand some things about it.?

Hey, so someone just sold me a PSP for $25(adaptor,and memory stick included!). First of all, I dont really know the guy and he just went to my summer school so he cant help me. So here is the specifics I kknow about the psp he sold me: its a 1000 has a regular 3.6v 1800mAh Battery PAck a Memory Stick PRO Duo (says Magic Gate) firmware 5.00 But now that I have a PSP, I need to know more about it. So after googling, I know that PSPs can be cracked to download games onto it. I also found out you need a Pandora Battery and a Magic memory stick. Is this right? Ok so I also went to this repair shop, where this guy put one game on for free to test (wanted to see if the psp worked well). and then I notcied he switched my battery while putting the game on. but at the time i didnt understand why. NOW, after checkig online, I found out about the whole Pandora thing. He also said to come back to get him to put on as much games as I want, and get a larger memory stick. Oh yea, and the memory stick I have is already the Magic one, but batterhy is normal. BUT, my question is, cant I order the Pandora and just do what he would do, without having to pay? Do I need anything else? What does Pandora do exctly? and what does all this have to do with firmware? As well, can these guys at the store rip me off? I think he knew that I had no idea about the battery so thats why he said come back. LAstly (Sorry! I have too many questions!!), I dont know if my psp is cracked or not. Im guessing it is cus of the memory stick and the fact that the guy put on a game. If it is cracked, can I still play games (CDs) in it? THANK YOU! I just feel dumb and I dont want some pros taking advantage and stealing my money. Im pretty good at figuring out technological things but am just new to PSP.

Open Question: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep?

I am looking forward to purchasing this game the only problem is that I don't have a PSP. Now there is a bundle that contains the game, the system, a battery pack, and a memory card for $199. I do not know what is necessary to have to use the PSP, is it like the PS2 where you NEED a memory stick? My second option is to buy a used PSP and the game separately, which would come to around $150. Please provide any information or advice....please.

Open Question: I am looking to buy a PSP 3000, but what will i need to go with it and whats the best way to get what i need?

After deciding on the 3000, i began to look into accessories and other items. The biggest thing i noticed is that memory cards are flipping costly. I want the most out of my PSP without harming it (thus i dont want it hacked) but im trying to stay on a low budget. What type of memory card is recommended (whats the average size of game files)? Should i be aware of any flaws in these cards (do cheaper cards lose data randomly)? Why a battery pack? etc. Im only a few days into my research and i need some answers =( as a gamer and slight techy this gizmo looks great, but i just want a fair picture of what im in for.
