User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Fun to play, but not much different from fifa 07
It’s a great game if you don’t have fifa 07. Because almost everything is the same from 07 except the teams and tournaments.

3 Stars Same thing, different packaging from EA
They could have done better with this one. Unfortunately you will get bored with it after few days since the only interesting thing is competing for the TREBLE. You have to create your own Champions League tables and the stadia are randomly chosen for you. The Final is not even in Athens…Commentary is “stupid” and out of context : you score and the commentators would say “that is a corner, now what can they do with it” and also the away goal rule does not apply so you would play extra time regardless of the away goals in a tie score. It seems that they rushed this release and still got it late and half finished! As a Tottenham supporter it is even more frustrating that after years and years of Fifa/Uefa releases White Hart Lane is not featured! and they included the Emirates. Shame on you EA. Lets hope Fifa 09 is an improvement!

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Great Soccer Game for PSP
This game controls surprisingly well and plays smoothly

The gameplay did not seem repetitive

It was more of a challenge than other soccer games I’ve played

I recommend it,

5 Stars Great game! Much more realistic and fun to play than FIFA!
Although it isn’t the newest version of the game anymore, Winning Eleven 9 is a good member of the best series of soccer games ever.

The game is very fun to play, and it’s not easy for those who play it for the first time. There are many strategy and formation options, and that is not trivial for those with no experience with this kind of games!

The game doesn’t have a tournament option, just leagues, which is bad, but, then again, we are talking about a game for a portable device.

5 Stars WE 3 – FIFA 0
Nada mejor que Winning Eleven en este apartado de juegos.

5 Stars Steep Learning Curve, SIM-Soccer/Futball at its Best
If your looking for a great soccer SIM, get Winning Eleven for PsP Xbox or PS2. The gameplay is as near to true soccer/futball as there is anywhere right now.

If your looking for more of an Action or Arcade style soccer/futball match get EA Fifa World Cup 2006.

WE9 – Superb Control Complexity, Superb Passing Options and Control, Near Perfect Scale of players – goals and the pitch itself. PsP WE9 has no Commentary or end to end camera, but it is mobile. Graphics arnt quite as good but yet feel more realistic than EA. respectable frame rates. After about 30-35 matches, I feel the computer AI is good, doesnt really cheat and the refs are fair on both sides.

EA FIFA World Cup 2006 – Decent Control, some inovative features like the first touch control system (WE9 has this too but isnt quite as intuitive), Horrible Scale – the pitch and the goals are way too small, the boxes are way too small constricing play a lot. Too Fast for real soccer/futball players, Might be Too Slow for most Action/Arcade lovers. Good Graphics but maybe too “CG”. Lagging frame rates at times with too many players in view. After about 30-35 games I find the other teams computer AI to be superb however your controling teams AI is horrible, the refs appear fair on tackles except near tackles (where the player doesnt quite fall) the ref calls those on the player but not on the pc (for the most part).

So in conclusion it may be that Winning Eleven isnt such a perfect game, but if your a SIM-Soccer/Futball player, it stands well over and above EA FIFA games, this from the mouth of someone who played soccer in leagues year round for over a decade, has been a gamer for almost two decades and also owns both games. (WE9-PSP, EA-PS2)

As a personal note, im actually thinking of ways to sell the EA game to a trade in store.

-Cheers!

3 Stars Simple
Okay gameplay but awful as far as the selection of teams. You know a game cant be great if they dont even have 3/4 of the names for the few players included. Dont buy it buy fifa 06 or world cup 2006.

NBA Basketball

January 20th, 2010 PSP Reviews No comments

NBA Basketball

NBA 2005 for PSP is the first, real, basketball simulation ever created for handheld entertainment systems, providing gamers with all the fast-breaks, precision passing, and above the rim action that fans have come to expect from their sport. Supporting multiple players via a Wireless multiplayer connectivity, NBA 2005 will test the skills of all hoopsters with a variety of gameplay options. During both single and multi-player gameplay, NBA 2005 features the ‘Clutch’ Shooting Mechanism, where a gamers skill and timing along their ability to pull off spin moves, jukes, pump fakes and other special moves will determine if the shot goes in or clanks off the rim. Multiple player support via Wireless multiplayer connectivity Media – UMD

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star Worse game i’ve played on the psp
First off, my biggest complaint about the game is the precision shooting. Why not just press the button once and depending on a few variables (openess, players ability, or distance to the rim) the ball will go in or out. Instead you have to press the shot key twice. Also a turbo key would have been awesome. I don’t think it is too much to ask as I recall the NBA Live games on PS1 had a turbo button. Obviously there are a few rules that the developers lost in translation as you can shoot the ball and have a long rebound travel back to the other side of the court and if you shot the ball you will be called for backcourt. The same goes for blocked shots and swipped balls that are touched by the opponent and travel across the half court line and then recovered by your team. I’m not exactly sure why anyone would by any sport game from this company and this game is no different.

1 Star Terrible game
This is the worst NBA game I have ever played in my life. The gameplay is terrible, the options are terrible, just about everything is. I wasted 30 bucks on this.

2 Stars This game bites
NBA is a very lacking and boring game. It’s really no fun at all because you pretty much just play(it’s way to simple for me). You can’t even take free agents because it doesn’t show any of there stats at all so it’s pretty much a gessing game.The only good things about It is it has pretty good graphics and you can play infrastructure mode. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!

2 Stars Another Rushed PSP Title
Clearly 989, under pressure from Sony, rushed this game to market with little or no QA and testing. A good review of the rules of basketball – particularly the ridiculous back-court violations that occur in this game following blocked shots would have been a good start. Additionally, better play calling capabilities would make the game a bit more intelligent. Its fun and the graphics are good – but the being able to lob the ball the length of the court to Ray Allen who will hit a three everytime isn’t the best mark of game design. Lot’s of silly glitches and errors in this game and no attention to detail – players names aren’t announced, no play-by-play put this game well below the standards set by other sports titles.

3 Stars Could’ve Been Better
I am a huge NBA fan, and I love NBA games… but this truly disappointed me. I think the price is about 5 or 10 dollars too high. Yes, it does have 2 player, and it’s the only game I have ever seen the Skills Challenge from the All-Star Weekend, but it was not very entertaining. For example, you have to have 4 minute quarters in Season Mode, while in a pickup game, you can choose. I really hate that because you only have about say a 35 point game, while all of the other teams get scores around 90 points. So, you don’t get a fair chance at getting into the All-Star Game. (even though I made it) Here are my final ratings.

Gameplay= 7/10

Audio= 8/10

Graphics= 7/10

Controls= 4/10

Features= 6/10

Overall= 7/10
